The production date on the frame says 1963 but it is titled as a 1964. If I were a collector and wanted an unusual bike to restore this would be a very worthwhile project or just enjoy it as it is. From what I'v e seen so far I think he's right. A friend of mine spent many years in Germany as a BMW motorcycle mechanic and said these were very popular in Europe and bullet-proof little bikes. The tires are good and the lights work but the speedometer and horn don't work and I haven't looked into that yet. The engine runs strong and it shifts smoothly except it shifts just the opposite from my Triumph with 1st gear being in the up position. After getting it home I bought a new battery, aired up the tires, gassed it up and to my amazement it started up with very little effort, so I took it for a ride. This bike came from a small town in South Dakota and I found it at an auction.
